What does the Cincinnatus Club do?
The Cincinnatus Club is the organization that sponsors and supports the Legion of Mars Mardi Gras Krewe. It is a social club that holds court at its formal, albeit military-themed, Ball and parades during Carnival, annually.
The purpose of the organization is as follows:
Who can be a member?
Membership is annual and open to both male and females as an exclusive private and social non-profit organization. To qualify for membership, you must be twenty-one (21) years of age and above all, of good moral character, a member of the military, retired military, friend of the military (civilian) or veteran honorably discharged and be willing to support the Krewe’s purpose and strive to preserve the Krewe for future generations. Members may also be sponsored by current members. However, qualifying military members must always make up a majority of the Krewe.
How much are annual dues?We are implementing some changes for the upcoming year, which runs from 1 July 2022 through 30 June 2023, and includes the tickets to our Ball. We are doing our best to ensure that our dues remain among the lowest in the city, but with a quality ball and parade.
This year we will have “EARLY BIRD” rates; those who pay their membership fees by 31 July 2022 will pay less than those who pay 1 August 2022 or later. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE
Why Mars (The God of War)?
Unlike Ares, the Greek God of War, who was viewed primarily as a destroyer, Mars used military power to secure peace.
Is there a Ball?
Yes!
Members receive 2 tickets to the Ball with their membership. Guests are encouraged. Look for more information on our Ball on our Ball Page and Event Listing.
